Are You as Concerned About Obama as the Republican Jewish CoalitionI happened over to the Republican Jewish Coalition's website and found some literature about the reasons why I should be concerned about Obama. Some of the reasons they list are:
In an a day and age when a hockey mom can be Vice-President I discount "experience" as a reason not to vote for Obama. Is there something wrong with Obama wanting to talk with hostile nations? Speaking with hostile nations is a good strategy to see if things can be worked out before blowing them to bits. Its not like we had done much speaking with Iran before labeling them as part of the axis of evil and cutting off communications. Now that Obama has supported talking to Iran, the Bush administration took their cue on this novel strategy and it lowered the price of oil. Maybe something can come of talking to your enemies? Are Obama's advisers really anti-Israel? Are they pro-US? Any thoughts? Is the suffering of the Palestinian people a cause for American concern? To the extent that these same people may be pissed enough at the part that we may have played in their situation and one day may want to bomb us in retribution, it seems reasonable to avoid the blow-back and make their conditions a little better - maybe by helping them have somewhere to live that is permanent. You could argue all day long whether that should be in Israel or elsewhere, but it seems that letting them live outside of an enclosure would be a priority to increase security in the region.
