Philosophe's blogTroops Support ObamaVia Balloon Juice from ABC News, this comes as little surprise to me. Granted, as Cole pointed out, the survey is unscientific, but this would still be a fairly large trend.
The Hypocrisy of Hillary ClintonHillary Clinton is on the board of directors for Wal-Mart. Has been been for years. Her campaign is build on several issues that are contrary to what Walmart does. Contrary to the point that I'm absolutely amazed no one else has cottoned onto this. She could at least publicly speak out against the policies (she is, from what I've heard, Sam Walton's niece somehow [this explains that five million she donated to herself], and it's not likely she'd be kicked off the board), even if she can't convince them to change policies. She's got a lot of power when it comes to this. She could speak out, and as the former First Lady of the US and Arkansas, and a current US Senator, she's got an incredible reach.
Pulling OutI'm sure we've all heard the news that we've hit 4,000 American deaths in Iraq. 4,000 young men and women have died, and enough is enough.
Boycott the Bejing OlympicsPure and simple, its the best way to make China realize that human rights violations = not ok. It will cause a fiscal loss and a loss of face on the world stage.
Mysterious Gaps in Hillary's Time Log as First LadyI do not trust Hillary Clinton as far as I can throw her. And this is why. The Power to DivideAndrew Sullivan made a point recently that really struck me as I read it. He said, It makes so much sense. If you spend time listening to Rush or Bill O'Rielly or any of the others, they draw lines. That's about ninety percent of what they do. "We Republicans are in the moral right, while those heathen Liberals will lead us to our doom!" Bush Nicks California National Guard EquipmentThe Govenator wants it back, since about half of California's National Guard equipment is gone, which leaves civilians vulnerable in the event of a fire or an earthquake. Everything from radios to humvees was taken and has never been returned or replaced. Other governors are complaining as well, starting with the Kansas governor, A few weeks later, when high winds threatened to worsen fires in Southern California, four of the planes were sent after state officials asked for help. About 2,500 of the state's National Guardsmen are overseas out of a force of more than 20,000. The state estimates that $1 billion worth of equipment is being used, from diesel generators to trucks to GPS devices. The California National Guard is also stretched thin because about 1,400 guardsmen are helping the federal government to secure the border with Mexico. "There's only so long you can do that," the governor said. "We now are missing 50 percent of the equipment - the equipment also (used) to train the National Guard." This is absolutely unacceptable. It is never ok to put civilians in danger because the government required use of equipment needed to protect the home front. More evidence that the Bush administration is full of it.
